Bauer Gear Motor (bauergears.com) has expanded its in-house manufacturing capabilities by acquiring an aluminum die-casting facility in Italy, operating under the name Aluminium Die Casting SRL.

Now a part of Altra Industrial Motion Corp., Bauer manufactures high quality gearmotors that are renowned for their efficiency and capacity to perform in the harshest of industrial environments. All but the most specialized of its gear motor range incorporates die-cast aluminum casings and components, so the integration of die-casting facilities into its in-house manufacturing capabilities makes a lot of sense.

“The acquisition of Aluminium Die Casting SRL allows us to consolidate our supply chain and improves the flexibility of our manufacturing competence. This will allow us to reduce lead times on orders for standard products while increasing the flexibility of our engineering services," said Karl-Peter Simon, Bauer Gear Motor managing director.

Bauer's modular gearmotor solutions perform to IE3 and IE4 classification, with specialist certifications available for most industries. The new aluminum die-casting facility in Italy is expected to open up further opportunity for R&D, allowing the company to expand its product catalog.
