Gin- and vodka-infused ice cocktails from LIC, which includes Grey Goose Vodka and Bombay Sapphire Gin, uses new aluminum foil easy-peel lids produced by Chadwicks of Bury (chadwicks-lids.com), part of the Clondalkin Group. 

Printed one- and two-color UV flexo, the lids provide an easy peel and secure seal for the new gin and vodka varieties that complement the current rum range of Mojito and Pino Colada.

Paul Whelan Technical Manager for Lids at Chadwicks explains: “The cocktails are frozen in paper PE tubs which, with their very narrow rolled rim, are difficult to seal and then open. Chadwicks’ aluminium PE co-ex material is ideally suited to this type of application as the sealing layer is 30gsm of modified PE that not only provides a 100 percent seal but also remains peelable.”

LIC is the world’s first fully frozen cocktails equivalent to an alcoholic beverage and are available nationwide.
