Sun Chemical’s Danny Rich, Ph.D. was recently honored by the Inter-Society Color Council (ISCC) with the prestigious Godlove Award. The Godlove Award honors current or former ISCC members who have made “long-term contributions in the field of color.”

Rich has been a member of the ISCC for 43 years and is currently is a member of the board of directors. He served as president of the board from 1998 to 2000 and as past president from 2000-2002. The ISCC is committed to advancing the field of color as it relates to art, science and industry through color education.

Rich has worked with Sun Chemical for 21 years as a senior color physicist and currently leads the color research laboratory team. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Idaho, a master’s in physics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and a doctorate in color science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Rich has published his research on a wide range of of color science and engineering topics, including visual perception, instrumentation and mathematical modeling.
