Following up on Developing Trends

Often, after we print an article in BRANDPACKAGING, we uncover added information on a trend we’ve identified. Here is more on a recent trend.
Disney chose a PETG heat shrinkable sleeve for its Sun Pals tanning lotions and sprays packaging.  Chatsworth, CA-based Ameri-Seal printed five different PETG sleeves, nine colors each, on rotogravure presses. PETG film was selected because the tops of the bottles narrow drastically, calling for a wider range of shrinkage that only PETG is said to provide.
The packaging features Disney characters The Little Mermaid, Nemo and Winnie-The-Pooh, creating kid-friendly graphics with plenty of shelf appeal. Squeezable bottles with lotion and spray caps make product application a snap.
Betty Crocker® selected a shrink label from Farmingdale, NY-based Seal-It for the reintroduction of its Decorating Decors line of toppings.
Made of heat shrink PVC, the labels are used for all five varieties of toppings and are printed rotogravure in six to 10 colors. The 360-degree image area allows space for graphics, a UPC code and ingredient listing. The label enables Betty Crocker to show consumers how to use the product and reinforces its branding. A tamper-evident seal features a horizontal perforation that releases the band from the cap while the label remains on the canister. BP
