SecureCapComar has developed SecureCap Child-Resistant (CR) Closures in response to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) rule requiring child-resistant (CR) packaging for products containing the equivalent of 0.08 milligrams or more of imidazoline.

The SecureCap Child-Resistant Closures utilize Comar’s existing two-piece push and turn technology with CR and senior-friendly design.

The technology is comprised of a two-component system (inner and outer) originally designed and utilized in the market for Comar's dropper assemblies. The CR dropper caps are currently standard stocked items in 20mm, 24mm and 28mm sizes.

CPSC mini protocol tests were completed with reportedly positive results in mid-May 2013 with a full protocol to follow, and commercialization expected later this year. Sizes ranging from 13mm-15mm for ophthalmic and 15mm-18mm for nasal will be offered and various sample sizes are now available.
