New Tic Tac Mixers Introduced in Minimalistic-Style Packaging

The design echoes that of the original Tic Tacs

The Tic Tac brand, known for its iconic-shaped mints and unique packaging, recently launched Tic Tac Mixers mints, the newest addition to the Tic Tac family of products. This new sub-brand features first-of-its-kind, dual-flavored pills that change from one flavor to another as you let them melt in your mouth for a small yet exciting experience.

"While the majority of the gum and mints category is focused on functional, breath-freshening benefits, we saw an opportunity to offer our consumers an unexpected surprise," says Todd Midura, category manager for the Tic Tac brand at Ferrero U.S.A. Inc. "New Tic Tac Mixers mints may ultimately bring a little fun to our consumer's day — it's something new and different from the Tic Tac brand."

As for the packaging design, Ferrero relied on Break, a well-established Milanese agency the company has been working with for a long time. The product innovation has been conveyed by both the name “Mixer” and the tagline “Flavour Evolution.” The “X” in the logo indicates movement and change. The fruit of the first flavor is always on the foreground while an X shaped window on the background points to the secondary one. It is worth noting how the caption connects the two flavours by a simple arrow to match the iconographic and minimalistic style of the Tic Tac brand.

The first two products within the sub-brand highlight beverage flavors.

  • Cherry Cola flavor Tic Tac Mixers: This flavor transitions from cherry to a classic cola.
  • Peach Lemonade flavor Tic Tac Mixers: This flavor changes from peach to a sweet lemonade. 

Tic Tac Mixers mints began nationwide rollout in June.
