Bemis Company recently announced that it will be increasing its US production capacity of tandem foil laminations. This is part of its already announced 2016 global capital expenditure plan of approximately $200 million. Improvements include a building expansion and a state-of-the-art Tandem Extrusion Laminator that produces high barrier flexible film used in packaging condiments, beverages and pet food.

“Our goal is to always put the needs of our customers first,” said vice president of liquid packaging, Derrick Sytsma. “The expansion and added capacity will allow us to continue to provide proper support to our customers, as well as opportunities for their future growth.” Sytsma added that Bemis is focused on expanding its abilities to serve customers in these end markets, and this investment will assist in meeting those goals.

The building expansion was completed in 2015 and the tandem laminator asset is currently starting up at the Bemis Specialty Films plant located in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
