Avery Dennison is expanding its portfolio of high-performance inkjet products. The company has added 12 new label constructions validated for use on specific original equipment manufacturer Inkjet printing platforms for water-based and UV printers and presses. The expanded portfolio will help converters get an even greater return on their digital print technology investment.

Digital offers a variety of advantages compared to flexographic (flexo) printing. Jobs can be modified in real-time, with minimal impact on workflow. Operators save time otherwise spent working with flexo plates and cylinders. They enjoy faster changeovers and cleanup. Digital also offers unmatched flexibility. Brand owners can specify variable printing, shorter runs (with an added benefit of less product obsolescence), and shorter turnaround times. And, digital offers all of this with quality output.

The Avery Dennison Inkjet Portfolio simplifies this complexity. Many of the products are available through the company’s EXACT™ and Ready Width™ service programs. The one slit roll minimum and next day shipment are a great complement to the short run/quick turn capabilities of digital presses.

“We expect digital—particularly Inkjet—to have a significant impact on the marketplace going forward,” said Jeff Greenlief, Avery Dennison product and business development manager. “Inkjet printing technology has evolved since it was first conceived almost four decades ago.”

“Yes, the material costs tend to be more expensive than with flexo due to highly engineered top coatings. But, there are an overwhelming number of digital benefits such as lower fixed costs; the elimination of plates including time for ordering, mounting, cleaning, and storage; ease of use, reduced waste including job changeover material, and ability to print variable information, which are prompting converters to shift jobs in order to capture profits with their most economical assets.”

Avery Dennison will showcase its expanded Inkjet Portfolio at Labelexpo Americas 2016. The event will be held September 13-15, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, near Chicago. Learn more and register for the event at www.labelexpo-americas.com.
