In honor of the 25th DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation, DuPont is asking the industry to vote on the past packaging breakthroughs that most impacted people’s lives. From hundreds of past winners, DuPont has identified six breakthrough groups that range from aseptic packaging that has enabled our current “on-the-go” lifestyle to centralized processing and packaging of meat that reduced waste and kept meat fresh longer.
Company doubles original target, will aim to provide total of six million people with access to safe water by 2015

PepsiCo, Inc. announces that the company has achieved its previously stated goal of partnering to provide access to safe water to three million people in developing countries by the end of 2015. Given the company's strong progress to date, PepsiCo also announced a new commitment to provide access to safe water to an additional three million people over the next three years through continued partnerships with water organizations, doubling the company's original goal.

New bottle marks next step in the Pepsi “Live for Now” marketing campaign

Pepsi has unveiled a new single-serve bottle for its Pepsi trademark portfolio including Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Pepsi MAX and Pepsi NEXT, marking its first design update since 1996. A visual expression of the brand's Excitement of Now positioning, the bottle is rolling out in markets nationwide starting in April in 16-ounce and 20-ounce packaging, with full conversion taking a few years.
The recycling of rigid plastics, excluding bottles, climbed 13% in 2011 to reach at least 934 million pounds for the year, and U.S. consumers with local access to recycle all non-bottle rigid plastics shot from 40% to 57% between 2011 and 2012, according to a pair of reports released today at the Plastics Recycling Conference.
Kellogg’s joins leading brands in implementing the Sustainable Packaging Coalition’s recycling label as project enters new phase

The Sustainable Packaging Coalition, announces the successful completion of the soft launch phase of its How2Recycle recycling labeling system. In addition, major brand name Kellogg’s will be joining the 11 other leading companies already taking advantage of the How2Recycle Label, including Ampac, Costco Wholesale, General Mills and Minute Maid.
US demand for adhesives and sealants will rise 2.2% per year to 9.8 billion pounds in 2017, valued at $11.9 billion. Gains will be driven by an improved outlook for major adhesives and sealants markets such as paper packaging, motor vehicles, and building construction, following the recession-plagued 2007-2012 period.
