Catdaddy comes of age with new look.

When Catdaddy Spiced Moonshine arrived on store shelves in 2005, this handcrafted spirit introduced the world to a delectable blend of spicy and sweet flavors with hints of cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg. Today this un-aged moonshine comes of age with new packaging that focuses on its warmly spiced attributes and a set of six new drink recipes that turn classic cocktails into incredibly unique concoctions.

"During Prohibition, only the best moonshine was referred to as the ‘Catdaddy,’" says Sarah LeRoy, vice president of marketing for Piedmont Distillers, Inc., the makers of Catdaddy Spiced Moonshine, "As we introduced this new moonshine, people fell in love with its one-of-a-kind taste. So, we decided to give the spiced flavors more visibility on shelves with changes to the bottle graphics and product story. Since its inception bar chefs across the country have experimented with Catdaddy as a fresh twist on some classic cocktails. Their creations were so amazing that we created a hangtag recipe booklet to share our versions of the best classic cocktails brought to life with the spicy and sweet notes of Catdaddy."

Enhanced on the bottle are references to "Spiced Moonshine."Although people perceive notes or hints of cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg, only the Founder and Master Distiller know the exact recipe. Catdaddy’s all natural ingredients are blended with a handcrafted spirit that is made from corn in small batches and triple-distilled to achieve an ultra-smooth finish. "We are the only spiced moonshine on the market," says LeRoy. "The updates we’ve made to our packaging will make this more distinctive and better position Catdaddy to capitalize on the growing consumer interest in flavored spirits like, spiced rum, flavored vodkas, flavored whiskies, etc. We’ve also highlighted the fact that our flavors are all natural which give consumers greater confidence in Catdaddy’s premium quality and takes advantage of the all-natural trend in the food and beverage industry."

Bottles of Catdaddy feature a booklet with six distinctive recipes that put a fresh twist on the most popular vintage drink recipes and introduce some entirely new libations."Using Catdaddy in classic cocktail recipes automatically puts these new drinks on the must taste list for 2012," added LeRoy. "The trend with mixologists is to craft cocktails with ingredients like herbs, fresh juices and unusual hints of flavor with a variety of bitters and the like. Along with this trend, recipes from America’s golden age of cocktails have been revived. Catdaddy’s recipes maintain the basic foundation of these classic drinks, but by incorporating Catdaddy and few other surprises, like rhubarb bitters for example, our recipes transform a tired drink into a fresh new cocktail with a nod to the past."

The Catdaddy recipe booklet also includes more simple cocktails to introduce the novice home bartender to Catdaddy’s world of mixology.
