Sunkist Growers is muscling into the nutrition-shot business in a big way-literally. Sunkist Protein comes in a 120-ounce stand-up pouch with a dispensing valve. The pouch, fromFres-Co,contains 48 servings of “protein shots.” The aseptic-compatible valve, fromInt’l Dispensing Corp.,allows the product to be stored without refrigeration throughout its use. Sunkist Protein is sold through the SkyMall Catalog, which reaches more than 640 million domestic airline travelers annually. Large retail outlets are being targeted for early 2011.
