PMMI(PMMI.org), the owner and producer of PACK EXPO International 2012 (McCormick Place, Chicago; Oct. 28–31), announcesDuPont(www2.dupont.com/home/en-us/index.html) has signed on as sponsor of the Conference at PACK EXPO education program. The conference runs Oct. 29–31, concurrently with PACK EXPO.

The Conference at PACK EXPO is one primary building block in PACK EXPO’s customer-centric agenda, and DuPont’s sponsorship strengthens it even further, says Charles D. Yuska, president & CEO, PMMI.

“This year’s conference theme is Educate. Innovate. Advance,” Yuska points out. “And DuPont’s reputation as an innovator complements and strengthens that statement.”

“Insights into important trends and issues, such as food security, gained at the Conference will help further innovation in the packaging industry,” says Jon Kemp, North America marketing and sales director for DuPont Packaging. “And the fact that PMMI has partnered with other organizations in the programming reflects DuPont's own belief that collaboration among organizations is the best way to accelerate progress.”

To generate programming relevant to the customers attending the show and conference, PMMI turned to partner organizations to craft and present the sessions.

“In addition to the sponsorship by DuPont, our conference partners have created programs that offer attendees unrivaled professional development and business insight opportunities,” Yuska says.

Those conference partners include the Alliance for Innovation & Operational Excellence (AIOE), the Association for Automatic Identification and Mobility (AIM), the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP), the International Society of Beverage Technologists (ISBT), PAC - The Packaging Association, PMMI U, and the Reusable Packaging Association (RPA).

Session tracks focus on topics in the following areas:
  • Food Safety/Product Security

  • Sustainability/Packaging Materials

  • Pharmaceutical and Medical Device

  • Focus on the Future – Trends and Innovations

  • Beverage

  • Manufacturing Solutions

  • Track and Trace

  • Transportation and Logistics
“Not only are the sessions crafted by industry leaders, they’re presented by experts from leading consumer goods companies including Bumble-Bee Foods, ConAgra Foods, Kimberly-Clark, Estee Lauder and Pfizer. It’s a powerful program, and we’re very pleased DuPont is part of it,” Yuska says.
