Monadnock Paper Mills appoints Dr. Peter Veverka as senior project manager
Veteran paper scientist to focus on company’s technical innovation and offerings
Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc. (mpm.com), a family-owned manufacturer that delivers high-performance specialty papers for the technical, packaging and printing markets, announces that Dr. Peter Veverka has joined the company as senior product manager in its R&D, Technical Services Department.
A published scholar and author of several patents, Veverka’s articles on dynamic contact line instability have helped to provide a basic understanding of film and paper coating technology. His previous roles include a 15-year tenure with International Paper, where he served as Pulp Mill Technical Leader. He also previously served as Manager for Customer Satisfaction and Product Performance Manager. At IP's Corporate Research Center, he supervised a team of scientists and technicians responsible for applied research on coated grades throughout IP. Veverka holds both a Ph.D. and Master's degree in Pulp and Paper Engineering from IPST at Georgia Tech, as well as Master's level studies in Process Control and Production Management in the Paper and Pulp Industry from Helsinki University of Technology. His undergraduate B.S. is in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware.
“Due to its size and expertise, Monadnock is able to form true partnerships with leading brands worldwide to custom engineer a diverse range of products in technical and specialty markets,” says Veverka. “It is that agility that attracted me to the company, and I look forward to applying my own technical expertise and working with the team to develop products that lead the market in innovation and quality.”
Monadnock provides a diverse range of technical/specialty products for a wide variety of uses, including high internal bond abrasive backing, tape system components, durable book covering, sterilizable medical packaging, vacuum filter bag media and polymer-reinforced strippable wall coverings.
“As the paper industry evolves, Monadnock’s future success depends on commercializing products now in development,” says Richard Verney, chairman and CEO of Monadnock. “With Peter’s strong technical education and broad industry experience he is well suited to help us develop and customize new products.”
