PACK EXPO 2016

Amcor to highlight plastic and carton packaging at Pack Expo

Amcor Limited highlights plastics and carton packaging at Pack Expo
November 3, 2016

Amcor Limited (amcor.com), a global leader in responsible packaging solutions, will showcase its innovative and sustainable plastic and carton packaging for everyday consumer use at Pack Expo, Booth #N-4981.

The company’s business units – Amcor Rigid Plastics, Amcor Flexibles Americas, and Amcor Folding Carton – will feature the latest technologies and several innovative applications that address the key needs of today’s consumers, brand owners, and packaging manufacturers.

Under its show theme, “Amcor Everyday,” the company’s exhibit will take the form of a modern home and display numerous packaging applications that are present in everyday life. Amcor will unveil new product launches and spotlight innovative plastic packaging, highlighting distinctive benefits and advantages that consumers have increasingly embraced.

“Amcor products found throughout the home enhance the lifestyle of consumers each day by providing unique design and functionality, high quality, lightweighting, convenience, and leading-edge solutions in sustainability and recyclability,” says James Rooney, vice president of sales for Amcor Rigid Plastics’ Diversified Products Division.

Amcor’s breadth of products addresses the increasingly challenging needs of co-packers and brand owners who seek to differentiate their products in a highly competitive marketplace. Amcor Rigid Plastics offers cutting-edge hot-fill beverage solutions and new technologies that are penetrating the food packaging industry as a replacement for glass.

Amcor Rigid Plastics will introduce its new collection of crystal clear PET bottles for dairy, aseptic, and high-pressure processed liquid beverages. This sleek and distinctive line of premium products are available in round, hour glass, and square shapes and come in four different sizes. In wine and spirits, leading brand owners are opting for premium PET containers to redefine their products and bring expanded consumer benefits such as lightweighting, portability, and convenience. In the home care market, 100% post-consumer recycled PET containers are finding increased penetration as an effective sustainable solution.

Amcor Rigid Plastics is also successfully embracing new technologies such as compression blow forming (CBF), which has been expanded with a new 20-cavity CBF machine for production of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pharmaceutical bottles. An advanced healthcare development is an “S.M.R.T. Bottle” pill dispensing system that electronically dispenses pills and offers digital tracking and monitoring for effective drug compliance.

Amcor Flexibles Americas will display a variety of packaging solutions for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, personal care, medical and industrial markets, including FPA award winners PushPop, SachetLite, StayClean, Tinted/Printed Formpack, and Dent Resistant-Compact Formpack. By combining optimum package functionality with greater sustainability, Amcor Flexibles Americas offers leading brands a unique identity that stands out from the competition.

Meanwhile, Amcor Folding Carton continues to invest in cutting-edge printing technologies to deliver value-added packaging solutions to customers across a range of industries. A new printing technology called Sunshineis a patent-pending technology that consists of an in-line application of a bright silver coating over an ultraviolet (UV) or electron-beam (EB) primer. The process delivers a highly reflective metallic effect, unlimited design possibilities, and faster speed to market for a range of folding carton applications. The breakthrough technology also simplifies the supply chain, improves packing line performance versus laminated boards, and provides significant environmental benefits. In addition to Sunshine printing technology for metallic effects, Amcor Folding Carton will introduce the latest in-line printing solutions for 3-D and prismatic effects.
