Squid Ink Manufacturing Inc. (squidink.com) introduces the new SQ-Laser marking systems. Squid Ink’s SQ-Laser marking systems are the company’s first laser solutions designed for high speed food and beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and other primary coding applications. Squid Ink lasers can permanently mark onto paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, wood, coated metal, leather and more.

Users select between a 10W (SQ-10) and 30W (SQ-30) system depending on their specific application requirements. Designed with versatility in mind, the system can be setup in minutes and is easily configurable, allowing for quick and easy installation of both stationary and moving applications. The SQ-Laser’s small footprint ensures an easy fit into production environments where space is limited. For applications requiring both vertical and horizontal marking, the laser head can be rotated 90° in less than 5 minutes.

SQ-Laser systems provide a reliable and economical solution for making a permanent mark on products. The system features a rugged cast aluminum controller body and an IP54 rating to ensure maximum reliability and uptime for the most demanding applications. No requirement for ink/consumables results in a clean and eco-friendly system with a lower cost of ownership and is an ideal alternative when CIJ systems are not practical.

SQ-10 and SQ-30 marking systems utilize a sharp and clean scribing technology that produces razor sharp marks on a variety of substrates at high rates of speed. In addition, SQ-Laser’s increased message flexibility means users have the ability to mix different font and logos in a single message and the ability to produce discrete codes for anti-counterfeiting and traceability applications. Messages are programmed using an easy to use touchscreen interface that provides users with a no-fuss method of code generation.

“The SQ-10 and SQ-30 laser marking systems are a welcome addition to our full line of coding and marking systems,” says David R. Mylrea, president and CEO of Squid Ink parent company Engage Technologies Corporation. “Our end-user customers and distributors have been asking for laser marking solutions and we are pleased to meet their needs with these two reliable systems.”
