METTLER TOLEDO's (mt.com) Product Inspection Group recently hosted a grand opening event. The 265,000 sq. ft. office and manufacturing space is the new Product Inspection Headquarters of the Americas and houses all of the Product Inspection business units – Safeline metal detection and x-ray inspection, Hi-Speed checkweighing, CI-Vision machine vision and PCE track and trace/serialization.

Attended by over 75 guests, event included activities and sessions that utilized many of the amenities the new facility has to offer. The first day opened with scheduled meetings and a comprehensive tour of the facility followed by an afternoon of networking and outings. The day concluded with a courtyard reception, which included a product fair with displays from the other METTLER TOLEDO divisions, and a formal dinner at the on-site restaurant.

A presentation entitled, The Fourth Industrial Revolution, discussing all factors that are "industry disruptors" today. This segued into presentations from METTLER TOLEDO about the latest innovations in product inspection technologies. Sessions wrapped up with a panel discussion, consisting of Bryce Burnett, corporate senior program leader, Chick-Fil-A, Inc.; Tom Kittle, president Handtmann Inc. & Handtmann Canada Ltd.; and Robert Rogers, senior advisor Food Safety and Regulation, METTLER-TOLEDO. Topics included the Industrial Internet of Things: how to prepare and its impact on business, food safety and how to turn the risk into a competitive benefit, and best practices for OEM relationships. The event closed with live hands-on product demonstrations.

The new facility includes a large production area, training and test labs, and multiple FAT rooms.
