The man who designed the tall cylindrical Pringles canister, Frederic J. Baur, will spend eternity in one. A portion of Baur’s cremated remains were buried in one of the resealable cans in Ohio, his family told the Cincinnati Enquirer in June. Baur was an organic chemist and food storage technician who specialized in R&D and quality control for Procter & Gamble, the maker of Pringles crisps. He received a patent for the iconic container in 1970.
