LUXE PACK, a tradeshow dedicated to luxury packaging, held its first west coast edition on February 7-8. For its inaugural Los Angeles edition, LUXE PACK joined forces with MakeUp in Los Angeles, the leading stage for the beauty sector in trends and formulation. The fusion proved to be successful, with over 3,900 attendees.
The inaugural show offered over 55 selected packaging specialists to the notorious Barker Hanger in Santa Monica for high level packaging business development. The comprehensive but cherry picked exhibitor offering included packaging experts in glass, plastic, creative finishes, digital solutions, sustainable materials, full service design and printing. The packaging developers showcased their most innovative capabilities and facilitated all brands who attended, legacy and indie (see Annex 1 – attendee extract), with all of their packaging needs.
According to Dustin Wills, managing director of the America’s for MW Luxury Packaging, “The inaugural Luxepack LA event exceeded all of my expectations. The show had a great volume of customers and prospects and we were able to connect with an entirely different geographic location of customers. We will be back next year for sure!"
Hiromi Watanabe Kimura, marketing director for Glass & Glass also shared “LUXE PACK in LA was an enriching experience for us! It was an opportunity to get in the American market."
In addition to the exhibition floor, and in true LUXE PACK fashion, the show was supplemented with a spirited and well-attended two-day conference program. LUXE PACK partnered with various industry associations to offer a dynamic schedule of panel discussions and keynote presentations that welcomed over 850 in conference attendance. LUXE PACK had the pleasure of working with THE DIELINE and Material ConneXion to offer visibility towards the future for packaging within all luxury sectors. In addition, attendees were welcomed to an olfaction workshop developed by The Institute for Art and Olfaction that explored “Historical Scents for Wellness Products."
Brand participants including Lisa Hoffman, CEO of Lisa Hoffman fragrance were involved in various blending exercises that led them to develop their own custom brand scent. Other pertinent packaging topics were addressed by experts from Stila Cosmetics, Euromonitor and e-commerce key player PHLUR. Overall, a fantastic exchange of ideas and concepts.
