Located at its dairy farm just north of Kansas City for more than 100 years, Shatto Milk comes direct from cow to bottle in as little as 12 hours. 

Recently, the brand noticed its seasonal flavor offerings like vanilla and blueberry were being demanded far longer than the two-week period in which they were being sold. The challenge was to find a way to offer these flavored milks year-round without worrying about shelf life and freshness.

They answered the challenge by developing five powdered flavors — Orange Dream, Vanilla, Strawberry, Blueberry and Cinnamon Roll — that can be added to a glass of milk. Shatto Milk turned to Berlin Packaging to identify packaging solutions that would complement the brand’s existing packaging. 

Shatto Milk wanted its new Milk Flavorizer product to be available in a specialty tin rather than a plastic jar or paper sleeve. A 76”x76” stock can with friction fit lids and silkscreened decoration was selected as the ideal solution. The design paired the simplicity of the Shatto Milk brand with the outline of a colorful milk carton, intending to conjure up nostalgic feelings of childhood.

The refreshed product packaging of Shatto’s Milk Flavorizers is available in local grocers and specialty shops throughout Missouri and Kansas as well as through the Shatto Online Home Delivery service. Shatto recently announced that the Milk Flavorizer powders would be the first product the company distributes nationwide beginning later in 2019.
