Keystone Folding Box Co. has launched Ecoslide-OTC, a child-resistant paperboard pack for over-the-counter medication packaged in blisters, which features a push-button locking mechanism.

Keystone Folding Box Company has released an improved version of its child-resistant Ecoslide-RX compliance package, which includes an updated re-closable locking feature designed to offer consumers a better experience. 

In 1970, Richard Nixon signed into law the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). The act was written in response to a growing number of child poisonings from unintentional ingestion of drugs and other products. The Act was successful, but a lot has changed in the last 47 years.

As part of its mission to improve patient adherence and outcomes through packaging, the Healthcare Compliance Packaging Council (HCPC) is excited to announce the winners of its annual Compliance Package of the Year competition. The winners were announced at the organization’s RxAdherence2017, Strategies to Improve Outcomes conference held May 2 in Florham Park, NJ. 

A fall 2016 report by Research and Markets states the cold form blister packaging market should hit U.S. $8.63 billion by 2024. Growing demand from the pharmaceutical industry and a high requirement of cold forming packs due to favorable product features are driving the growth.

The medicine or device may be a home-run product, but if consumers aren’t using the product correctly, it has little chance of success. And if the consumers cannot even open the package to get to the product inside, it has zero chance.

The opportunity in the global sterile medical packaging market is projected to reach U.S. $38.3 billion by 2024.
