The Jennie-O unit of Hormel Foods has rolled out a nacho platter package that comprises all three components (meat, cheese, tortilla chips) and its own serving tray. Jennie-O Nacho Platter comes in a polystyrene tray with lid, containing separately wrapped portions of ground turkey, cheese and chips. A paperboard overwrap protects the tray and bears the package graphics. The front panel features an appetizing, nearly life-size photo of the final product, with an abbreviated version of the three-step directions. The rear panel has the full version of these directions, telling the consumer how to microwave the meat, layer it with the chips and cheese, and microwave the preparation again. The 30-ounce product has a suggested retail price of $9.99.
