First inaugural cadet contest collects 24,310 cans

The United States Air Force Academy Cadet Squadron 09 won the inaugural Great American Can Roundup contest by recycling a total of 4,166 beverage cans. Sponsored by the Can Manufacturers Institute, the GACR creates awareness of the environmental benefits of recycling cans.

The stunning new bottle features a unique package design incorporating a hand-sculpted, tea leaf motif with three-dimensional qualities, giving the impression that the bottle is wrapped in tea leaves. Goal of increasing throughput while eliminating packaging breakage

After experiencing a higher than desirable level of bottle breakage with repurposed packaging equipment, Midwestern stalwart Boulevard Brewing Company approached Standard-Knapp to create a solution to meet its non-traditional packaging demands, which include four different bottle types, multiple packaging sizes, and no carton dividers. The packaging company responded with an innovative solution that picks the product from the infeed conveyor and gently places it into the bottom of the empty case. The company now reports virtually zero packaging breakage and has increased throughput by about 10% because of increased efficiency and less down time.

HONEST® Fizz is a new, naturally sweetened zero calorie soda line sold in slim 12-ounce cans and 6-packs in four flavors: Lemon Limey, Orange Pop, Professor Fizz, and organic Root Beer.
