That's a wrap!

Wrapping up the food industry

April 20, 2015
Making sure that food products are properly wrapped is easily one of the most important parts of the produce industry and it’s not hard to see why. For food to make it from the production line to the supermarket shelves certain precautions have to be taken in order to make sure that those products are still fresh and ready to be eaten.

This is imperative not just for the sake of taste, but for everyone’s health as well. It’s important that any food products being produced are wrapped so that no air can get in and cause spoilage; in fact in some cases you may need wrapping that traps in a layer of preservatives to extend the shelf life of the product. Only high quality wrapping machinery can achieve this; it’s just not the sort of thing that can be done by hand.

Food wrapping machinery from Advance Flowpack provides produce industries with a viable wrapping solution. Their GSP range of flow wrapping machinery has proven to be robust and efficient, helping industries to wrap up their produce and maintain freshness for longer. Here are some of the produce industries that Advance Flowpack cates for with its line of wrapping machines.

Baked Goods

Baked goods like pastries and cakes are delicious and bread is a staple of the average person’s diet, and while this type of food is incredibly popular it’s also the type to go stale quickly if not dealt with properly. How many times has half a loaf of bread gone to waste because it wasn’t wrapped up properly, or gone stale before its use by date because of a tearing in the packaging? Advance Flowpack’s bakery wrapping machinery has capabilities for wrapping all kinds of baked goods, from loaves to individual cakes.

Snacks and Confectionary

The food we eat on the go needs to be kept as fresh as anything else, especially if you’re out and need to buy something to munch on. There are all kinds of convenience foods out there and so their shelf life needs to be extended for as long as possible. For example, if you stopped to buy a sandwich whilst travelling, you’d want to ensure that sandwich was as fresh as possible. The same goes for your favourite chocolate bars, and in cases like this you require a machine that can wrap individual bars quickly and efficiently.

Fresh Produce

Fresh fruit and vegetables are notorious for easily spoiling and keeping them fresh can be a bit of a nightmare at the best of times. Wrapping up organic foods like this can be incredibly challenging, and any produce wrapping machinery set up for the task would need to be able to withstand humid production environments whilst being easily cleanable. This can help industries to avoid unnecessary mess and operational issues that could be caused by the products you’re trying to wrap.
