Portioned, precooked, carved ham packages arrive

Packages respond to research showing smaller sizes suit consumer needs

Farmland Foods today announced the introductionof Cook’s Everyday Cuts, a new line of fast, flavorful, affordable, family-pleasing meals for everyday use featuring items such as ham medallions and ham chops from America’s favorite ham brand. Carved from Cook’s famous whole bone-in hams, the smaller one to two-serving and four-serving sizes make ham accessible and affordable any night of the week.

“Our research has shown that consumers are bored with giving their families the same thing day in and day out, and are tired of trying to find new ways to make the same things differently,” says Brendan Smith, vice president of marketing for Farmland Foods. “Everyday Cuts gives consumers the variety and ease they want with the high-quality they know and love in Cook’s products. Farmland is committed to continued innovation, finding new and exciting ways to meet consumer needs.”

Everyday Cutsare pre-cooked for quick preparation in the oven, stove-top or on the grill. The wide variety of meat cuts, which can be seasoned, glazed and/or grilled, give busy consumers new and easy-to-prepare options that the whole family will love. The smaller serving sizes and individual packaging also make clean up as simple as the preparation.

Research shows that 91% of households in the United States consist of four or fewer people, but limited ham options prior to Everyday Cuts made it challenging to prepare ham outside of larger group gatherings. Extensive research also shows having the ability to purchase the right size and having trusted smoked meat brands are the most important factors impacting consumers’ purchasing decisions around smoked meat. As America’s leading ham brand, Cook’s high-quality, fresh products are a perfect fit to give consumers the variety and taste they want, in the size they need.
