Personal care and beauty packaging can be a challenging market to grasp due to the vast variety of products consumers use on a daily basis. Lotion, toothpaste and shampoo, for example, all fall into the same consumer category, but the packaging for each of these products is subject to a different set of requirements.

Despite this though, many broader packaging trends, like sustainability and ease of use, can be seen across all types of personal care products. As a result, the personal care packaging sector has heavily focused on making packages more eco-friendly, while also keeping consumer convenience in mind. Learn more about some innovations in personal care packaging below.

TriMas Packaging Launches New Foaming Pump

TriMas Packaging, the largest operating group of TriMas, recently announced that it has added to its breadth of commercially available, fully recyclable, all-plastic dispensers with the launch of a new foaming pump under its patented Singolo™ product line.

The new foaming dispenser offers a sustainable alternative to traditional pump designs by incorporating an innovative polymeric spring, replacing a conventional metallic spring, thereby facilitating direct recyclability. While maintaining a familiar look, feel and smooth actuation for ease of use, the foaming dispenser is fully customizable with various neck sizes, head shapes and colors. Importantly, it also accommodates different liquid viscosities and container designs.

Neopac Wins Hungaropack Award for Sustainable Toothpaste Tube

Neopac, a global provider of high-quality packaging and dosing applications for pharma, beauty and oral care, earned a HUNGAROPACK 2024 Award from the Hungarian Association of Packaging & Materials Handling. The accolade recognizes Neopac’s innovative Polyfoil® MMB mono-material barrier tubes, which are utilized for Colgate’s toothpaste brand, Elmex.

HUNGAROPACK, established in 1967, is a premier event in the Hungarian packaging industry, celebrating advancements that champion sustainability, innovation, and quality. The 2024 competition saw 55 entries from over 30 companies across consumer, collection, and transport categories, with only six winners selected. Neopac’s recognition underscores its leadership in developing cutting-edge, sustainable packaging solutions.

FASTEN Wins Gold Pentaward for Sustainable Personal Care Packaging

FASTEN Packaging, an IBG (Innovative Beauty Group) company and leading global beauty solutions provider, won a prestigious Gold Pentaward for its packaging concept, ONE, which seamlessly integrates design and sustainability. This recognition highlights the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of beauty packaging design. The winners were announced at a Gala Ceremony in London last October.

Founded in 2007, the Pentawards is a leading global platform for packaging design, recognizing excellence in innovation and providing inspiration to the global packaging community. This year’s 18th annual Pentawards competition received more than 2,000 entries from 62 countries worldwide.

ONE’s design embodies a seamless fusion of sustainability and innovation. In an era where eco-consciousness is paramount, ONE eliminates the need for separate parts, like caps, and reduces material waste by utilizing a single mono-material — polypropylene (PP) — that ensures easy recycling.
